Who says Tom Ricketts isn't spending money this offseason? He made sure to point out that the Cubs picked up Cole Hamels' $20 million option for 2019, and of course who can forget the big free agent pick up of Daniel Descalso, looking down at fans during his radio tour Thursday morning. Well, some fans were hoping the team would do something of note before the Cubs convention and here's your move, guys.

The right-hander started his career with the Rockies in 2012, and then he pitched for the Pirates in 2015 and part of 2016. Scahill then headed to the Brewers, making 34 appearances for Milwaukee in 2016 and 2017 combined. He's never pitched more than 34.2 innings in a season at the major league level. That career high came in 2016.
