Addison Russell celebrated his 23rd birthday today and in case you didn't know...he's a pretty good dancer. During Cubs Convention, a panel of Kris Bryant, Ben Zobrist, Anthony Rizzo, and Russell were asked who the best dancer on the team was and all of them answered in unison, "Addy."
Rizzo took it a step further and told the audience,
"Matter of fact, Addy's the best dancer in this entire building."
When you see some of these videos, it appears Rizzo wasn't exaggerating.

I figured instead of looking at Russell's top defensive plays or biggest hits of the season, I'd switch it up and check out his best dance moves. Russell's glove has been the most consistent (and arguably the flashiest) on the Cubs defense since his arrival to the team in 2015.
Watching Russell dance helps me to better understand how the hell he's so fluid defensively.
Russell's dance skills were first noticed during Spring Training last year when Russell and wife Melisa were on a double date with Kris Bryant and then fiance Jessica Delp. For some reason Russell felt the need to take the stage and show off these silky smooth dance moves.

Addy not only likes the Spring Training stage but the big stage as well. Before Game 6 of the World Series, Russell was caught in the dugout doing the same robotic dance moves and even sprinkled in a mini moonwalk at the end.
The moves paid off as Russell went on to tie a World Series record with six RBIs in Game 6 highlighted by a huge grand slam.

The moonwalk reappeared in front of what has to be the biggest audience Russell has ever danced in front of. He broke it out as he was being introduced during the Cubs championship rally which had roughly five million people in attendance. Even though the audience was huge, Russell still delivered on the big stage.

It's good to see that Russell is not only a clutch hitter, but a clutch dancer as well.
Happy birthday Addy!
