So, 670 The Score's Dan Bernstein is reporting that among other teams the Cubs are actually in on Bryce Harper, as contract negotiations continue to pick up steam. I don't care if you hate Dan Bernstein, like him, believe in his sources or not, but at this point after all the talk at the start of the GM meetings saying the Cubs won't be spending, I'll take any report that links Harper to the Cubs. From the very beginning it's always made sense for the Cubs to go after Harper. Right in the middle of their window, they need another bat and he fits right in the outfield, which then makes other guys available to trade to also improve the team. So, hey, we finally got a Harper to Cubs connection! LET'S FUCKING GOOOOOOO! ps: Could this just be the Cubs trying to get some good PR after the money reports came out a few weeks ago? Possibly, but I just can't accept that this team won't be aggressive in the offseason to make the roster better and Bryce Harper, or Manny Machado are simply perfect for the team to not just improve, but create some distance from the rest of the division. We all saw how 2018 ended for the Cubs. You don't want to get stuck in a win or go home Wild Card Game.
