Hey, hey! Some good news on Cubs catcher Willson Contreras.
The two-time All-Star has been out since early August after straining his right hamstring, but following some more workouts in New York Contreras is on the verge of returning to game action.
Before Wednesday night's game, Joe Maddon had the following update on Contreras.
So, there could be a chance that Contreras plays in the Triple-A playoffs with the Iowa Cubs.
The Triple-A seasons ends on Sept. 2, with the postseason beginning two days later.
Prior to the hamstring injury, Contreras had 19 homers and an .890 OPS in 87 games.
